2012 VINTAGE A near perfect season, the vintage witnessed the return to classically characteristic Napa Valley growing conditions. The combination of idyllically warm weather and the singular attributes of the vineyard brought forth a winegrape crop of incomparable quality and abundance.

Favorable weather in early 2011 set the stage for a sizable crop in 2012. This superb early set, which enjoyed exceptional growing conditions through the season, delivered a Cabernet Sauvignon crop noted for its sizable clusters of large berries, bringing an abundance of superior fruit character and complexity to the resultant vintage.

Harvest was completed on October 15th, with our benchland Blocks 3 and 4 respectively yielding 3.6 and 4.5 tons per acre, hillside Block 6 yielding 4.6 tons, and creekside Block 7 providing 2.8 tons. The season’s idyllic conditions yielded fruit with outstanding depth and energy, displaying superb intensity to the silky, mineral-driven flavors of raspberry, sage, and forest floor, and conveying an essence of the vineyard’s western Oakville soils.
