VHR Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 Vintage

VHR 2016 Napa Valley experienced yet another exceptional growing season in 2016, the fifth in a series of spectacular vintages. Following the exquisite wines produced in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, vintage 2016 is certain to be regarded as one of the finest in the history of the Napa Valley.

The 2016 growing season was marked by well-timed spring rainfall and warm growing conditions through the month of July. August delivered mild temperatures that allowed for extended maturation in the vineyard, resulting in a Vine Hill Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon that possesses remarkable complexity, character and subtle nuance.

Harvested from vineyard blocks 1, 3, 4 and 6, our 2016 Cabernet is structured and powerful with layers of ripe blackberry, licorice, sweet tobacco, mocha and dark chocolate. Combined with a never-ending depth of complexity and intensity on the finish, this vintage has a gorgeous, velvety mouthfeel with perfectly integrated tannins. The wine is majestic and distinctive with an underlying layer of uplifting acidity.

Balanced, full-bodied and opulent, VHR 2016 seamlessly integrates the attributes of our chosen vine rows and blocks, creating a singular expression of the Vine Hill Ranch vineyard.
